Artist's Comments

Forever young, forever inspiring... The immortal James Dean.

I think I've gotten so much better at this , comparing to my previous work. :) I changed my shading technique to cross hatching and it works wonders.
I also used a wider range of pencils: HB and 2B all the way to 7B.

Tips and criticism apreciated. :hug:

I love it! Maybe work on softening the shades with one of them erasers or even with your finger to give it a more soft feel? I dunno, but I do know that it's great! :D

Thanks! I thought of that but I like drawings that show the artist's "brush" so to speak, they are more expressive. Which is why I left it like this. Might try smudging more in one of my next works though. :)

Hey, I can't draw for the life of me, I figured I should throw something in there just 'cause you have it set on to Advanced Critique. My way of sounding smart. :D Ha.
I just love it as it is, though. :)

i really like your style, it's rough.... in a good way though!
my two suggestions would be to darken the top of the forehead
to reduce any "wig hair", and maybe work a little on the ear.
it looks a little pointy. i might draw some individual swooping strands of hair
in that area.
great job, keep it up!

Nice JD! It's like you have movement and activity in your drawing. I almost expect him to turn his head and look straight at me!

I like the lighting you chose to draw this in. It gave the drawing a real dramatic feel that suits him very well. Great job :}

much better =)
as a tip I'd say find some equilibrium in the drawing, I mean, there's parts too bright and parts too dark, maybe trying to soft that out would be better.
